A rare August Pietra Paesina Cabinet
The most important German cabinets were made in Augsburg in the 17th century through the collaboration of various craftsmen and artists and were exported to royal courts and wealthy customers all over the world.
Two further cabinets, probably also dating from around 1660, are exhibited in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna and the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg.
